Dr. Moore knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was just a toddler. She couldn’t fully pronounce it, but she knew. She loved animals. She grew up splitting her time between Hayward and Groveland, a small town near Yosemite. She loved nature, and enjoyed caring for the family’s cats, dogs, chickens, turkeys, goats, and a neglected horse who lived in a pasture next to her family’s property. She “helped” baby chicks hatch (which was not always so helpful), and learned about life and death at an early age. She was fascinated with life, and how it worked. It was then she began her long journey to veterinary school, which took her many places, including the Army, where she served in the US Army Reserves as a Chemical Operations Specialist, working up from Private to the rank of Staff Sergeant. She graduated from San Francisco State University, Summa Cum Laude, with a BS in Physiology, minoring in Chemistry. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and went on to become a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps, serving in a deploying veterinary unit out of Fort Hood, Texas. While there, she trained soldiers, examined deploying military working dogs, and cared for pets of military families. Did you know Dr. Moore graduated from Army basic training first in her COED platoon?
Dr. Moore enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, her theatrical daughter, and animal loving son, three rescue cats, and is hoping to have a dog someday soon. In her spare time, she loves to create art and volunteer doing hair, makeup, and props with a local youth theater group. She is also the Alameda County coordinator for the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps, and the CVMA House Delegate for the CCVMA. She also volunteers for STEM events, and you may find her giving a talk at a local school, suturing or bandaging up a stuffed animal for a Girl Scout event, or teaching youth how to analyze labwork and radiographs to make a medical diagnosis. She has a strong interest in integrative medicine, surgery, and dentistry. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. She strongly believes in creating a work environment that is like a family away from home, where pets and their families feel welcome, while providing the best care for our furry patients.
Dr. Lisa Zinn joined our hospital in September 2009 after graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She went through additional training in a year-long internship in Walnut Creek, California with veterinary specialists and emergency doctors. Lisa graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Biology. When Dr. Zinn is not at the clinic, she can be found wrangling her three kids and/or relaxing with her scruffy dog. In her spare time, she likes cooking/baking, staying active and working out at the gym, being out in nature, and watching home renovation and cooking t.v. shows. As a veterinarian, Dr. Zinn’s goal is to keep pets happy and healthy through every stage of life with preventative care and yearly visits to the vet. Did you know that in her junior year of high school, Dr. Zinn won the Napa County Fair Arm Wrestling Competition! and she rowed for the crew team for UCLA!

Jessica Westrope, RVT
I strive to provide excellent, quality care to all patients while maintaining an understanding, patience, and an inviting atmosphere for their humans. I feel that being “present” not only within the hospital for the team but also being out there for our community.
I have been an emergency technician for over 20 years, working with both small and large animals. Even though I no longer work for an emergency hospital, I cannot help but be excited when an emergency comes through the door. “You can take the tech out of the ER but you can’t take the ER out of the tech”!!
Along with my loving husband and 2 daughters, we are proud owners of 2 black labs, Cazadora and Kanon and 2 cats, Oliver and Gator. As a family, we enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Family Care Representative
I was born and raised in the Upstate New York State area and would spend many weekends in NYC. I moved out to California in 2012 to get away from the cold. I have always had a special spot for animals and until recently I had a Siberian Husky, Koda Copper. He lived to see 14.5 before cancer took him from me. I am going back to school in the fall to continue my education in the hopes of getting my RVT degree 4-5 years from now. I see how desperate the veterinary field is in need of them and would love to help with that. I love all movies but I have to say Disney and Harry Potter have a special spot in my heart along with going to the beach or visiting Pinecrest.
Devan is a resident of San Lorenzo, CA where she lives with her 8 year old son. She has proudly been part of Veterinary Medicine since 2017 and is in school to be an RVT.
